I hate to start and stop a thing, but stuff happens … My nephew continues to recover, a bit slower than we want him to. Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers! Get well soon, kiddo!
I have a TON of material worked up for GUARDZ. It will move forward shortly. I am toying with doing another strip (STRICTLY black and white), time permitting. It’ll be more in the “cartoony” style that I’m trying to adapt rather than the current style you see with my drawings now. You’ll also notice that I’ve shrunk down some images. I’ll probably pay for the price to increase the amount of hard drive space for this server (oh! How we artists suffer for our craft!) I’ve also been itching to get back into Poser, but I’m waiting on a digital camera for that (I’m trying to keep most of my stuff original).
Thanks again for stopping by…

I haven’t much in a creative mood. My visiting 14-year old nephew was struck by a car recently when he was attempting to cross a road. He’s been unconscious, lying in the ICU ever since. We still have no idea who is at fault; by recently the news media (which I, as you all know I admire greatly for their unbiased reports and unslanted newscasts, thanks guys for your misinformation) (whoops, I mean information) seems to be determined to make him the guilty one. We’ve already had several conflicting reports of what really happened, but the police only questioned the driver who claimed he was in the intersection when the light turned yellow. How convenient.
My nephew is a darling. He’s the most respectful kid that you’d ever know. He loves his parents, his grand parents and his aunt and two uncles. He’s not what you would call a “typical teenager”, I mean he still plays basketball, has a growing interest for girls, and plays video games, but he still manages to be the most giving person you’d ever meet. He’d never disrespect you or ask for something that was out of line. In short, he’s a good kid. No, scratch that, he’s a great kid. Some people exaggerate how good their kids are, but those kids always seem to be out of control. This is no exaggeration. Miguel is one of the coolest kids you’d ever meet.
You would not believe the outpouring of love this kid has received. The waiting room always seems to crowded with people waiting to see if he’s going to be okay. Not only family, but friends, and friends of the family who’ve all known this kid ever since he was a little boy. People we haven’t seen in years seem to be appearing out of nowhere just to make sure he’s okay. It’s so amazing to see how many lives this kid has touched.
The police seemed to want to wrap the accident up quietly. The area of road that my nephew was on is notorious for vehicular and pedestrian accidents. The speed limit remains at 45 mile per hour, yet kids cross that street constantly in order to get to the Boys and Girls Club on the other side. It is interesting that the more affluent neighborhoods down that long stretch of road have reduced speed limits and warning signs for their kids. I guess no one really cares for the ethnic mix children that cross the street to keep out of trouble. Maybe they should all be “put in their place” selling drugs on the street corner or robbing the other neighborhoods instead of keeping out of trouble by going to a recreation center. I mean who cares for a 14-year-old black kid, right?
